Paradise for piste freaks: The Hahnenkammbahn can be reached on foot in a couple of minutes, its red gondolas carrying you right into the heart of the skiing fun – and that in the world's best ski area (Skiresort.de). You can also take the ski bus, the bus stop is just around the corner. After a wonderful day's skiing, it's best to leave your skis and boots in the storage at the lower terminus and enjoy a stroll through town on your way home, stop off for a snack or celebrate some après-ski.

Our tip: Barbara will be happy to reveal the best spots to stop off at on the slopes and in town.

In summer: Take the cable car up to the wonderfully scenic high altitude hiking area on Hahnenkamm mountain. The summit attempt up to Kitzbüheler Horn is well worth the effort – here you'll enjoy one of the most scenic panoramas in the Kitzbüheler Alpen. The new Bichlalmlift also opens up a wonderful hiking area on the sunny side of Kitzbühel. Feel like a cycling tour? Barbara will be happy to tell you of the options for renting a bicycle, the many daytrip destinations, the nicest places at the lakeside of Lake Schwarzsee and the best addresses in town.
